Psychotherapy

You or someone you know may seek psychotherapy for a variety of reasons, including:

Dealing with severe or long-term stress from work or family situations, coping with bereavement after the loss of a loved one, or managing relationship or family problems;
Experiencing symptoms with no physical explanation, such as changes in sleep or appetite, low energy, lack of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed, persistent irritability, excessive worry, or a feeling of discouragement or hopelessness that won't go away;
A health care provider who suspects you have or diagnoses you with a mental disorder that is interfering with your life;
Supporting a child or family member who has been diagnosed with a condition that affects their mental health;
The initial examination by a healthcare provider is crucial as it helps rule out any underlying physical health problems that may be contributing to the symptoms. This step is important because certain symptoms commonly associated with mental health issues, such as mood swings or trouble concentrating, can also be caused by medical conditions.
